A selection of several book editions published in the 1960s in Czechoslovakia and Germany showed how contrasting their design was.

The difference is best seen when we arrange the series series next to each other. In the famous edition suhrkamp, a rainbow effect arises because designer Willy Fleckhaus has assigned one color spectrum to each volume, while the Small Series of Contemporary World Prose and The Paths edition turn into a collection of abstract paintings. Czech artists did not treat them conceptually as Fleckhaus, but artistically, following the pattern of their free creation. Curated by Jan Wollner.
